GroBrain Toddler Course

The GroBrain Toddler course is for parents and carers of infants aged 1-3 years.

Parents can feel quite exasperated by their toddler's apparent lack of co-operation! Are they just acting up?

The Toddler Course builds on the Baby Course, giving fresh insights from neuroscience into toddler behaviour to help parents/carers lay strong foundations for their child’s emotional wellbeing.

Toddler Course Details

The Toddler Course for ‘in person’ parenting groups consists of five sessions lasting around 2 hours, including ample time for group activities, discussions, quizzes and a coffee break.

  3. Helping toddlers manage their behaviour 1

  4. Helping toddlers manage their behaviour 2

  5. Communication, play & school readiness

Facilitator Resources

Our popular Toddler Facilitator Kit is included in the price, and contains all you will need to run a parenting course either online or face-to-face.

  • Facilitator Manual (online and face-to-face versions)

  • Set of A3 laminated cards to raise discussion

  • A3 Brain diagram

  • 4 laminated A5 diagrams for 1:2:1 work

  • Memory stick containing handouts, evaluation and certificates

  • Set of unique visual aids

  • PowerPoints for ‘in person’ courses or for use online e.g. via Zoom

  • 10 Toddler Booklets for Parents (an integral part of the course)

Facilitator Training

Who is eligible for training?

The Toddler Course may be delivered by health visitors, midwives, perinatal services, family support staff, social/emotional health services, nursery nurses, dads’ workers, speech & language therapists, social services, fostering/adoption services. No prior knowledge of infant mental health is required.

You will need all of the following:

  1. Existing training/experience in facilitating parenting groups (or to be working with an experienced colleague.).

  2. To have completed an online GroBrain Foundation Course first, to gain the underpinning knowledge and GroBrain methodology.

Training details:

Trainees need to attend an ‘in person’ online training day (Zoom or Microsoft Teams).

One written assignments (marked by a GroBrain tutor) is built into the course and must be completed as part of the CPD certification process.

This training is mapped to the Infant Mental Health competency framework and provides 9 CPD points.

Training day outcomes:

  • To become familiar with the Toddler Course materials

  • To practise explaining key concepts

  • To discuss how the key messages can be applied in different settings

  • To learn about the evaluation procedure

How the facilitator resources are sent

The Facilitator Kit is sent to you by regular post. Please allow 7 working days for the Kit to arrive in the UK, and ensure someone is there to sign for the delivery.
