Infant Mental Health and Early Relationship Training
Infant Mental Health & Parent-Infant Relationship Training for Family Hubs & Early Years Services
GroBrain supports Family Hubs and early years services to strengthen parent-infant relationships, improve early interaction and emotional regulation.
Our training helps Family Hub teams, health visitors, early help practitioners and related professionals explain infant brain development and attachment in clear, visual and accessible ways that parents understand and remember.
Our unique visual materials and evidence-informed approach make complex neuroscience easy to communicate to parents and caregivers, improving outcomes for babies and families in the first 1,001 days of life.
GroBrain has been used by thousands of practitioners including many NHS Trusts, and Family Hubs in Hull, Northumberland and South Tyneside.
A report from the Parent-Infant Foundation* recommended that ‘All families be offered a strengths-based education package, such as GroBrain or similar, to enhance their understanding of the importance of parent-infant relationships with their current and future children.’

Practitioner Feedback
“GroBrain has enhanced our Family Hub offer. The resources GroBrain has given have really supported the team to have that information and give what they need to the right families at the right time.
— Sue Hodgkinson Family Hub Manager, Northumberland.
.”What on earth did we do before GroBrain? We use it across the city in all our Family Hubs. It’s easy to teach and it’s easy for families from any walk of life to understand…. It covers every area of my job and makes my job much easier.
— Laura Shackleton – Senior Practitioner, Hull Family Hubs
GroBrain is very popular in south Tyneside. Parents respond really well to it and they keep coming back. You’ve been able to share scientific information in a way that gets people engrossed..
— Claire Hannard & Elena Scott, Early Years Practitioners – South Tyneside Family Hubs
“90% of our cases take their babies home, and GroBrain is a huge part of that. I don’t know how we would manage without it to be honest. We use it on pretty much every home visit and in all our groups, because that’s what the parents respond to. It’s at the centre of everything we do. When we speak to parents we ask for feedback and GroBrain is the thing that stands out the most. They remember GroBrain above all the other materials.
— Mike Davies, Coordinator Jig-So/Reflect/PAC Team Leader -December 2025.
The word gets around. It must have got around because people will come to me now and say, do you do the GroBrain programme? It's obviously had such a positive effect on so many families.””
— Aileen Johnson - Cardiff Flying Start Parent Group Coordinator
— Gail Monk, Deputy Team Manager, Early Years Family Service Flying Start, Flintshire
““It has transformed our practice.”
